The coronavirus overpowered all other news, and let’s not pretend – we all wonder how we can get through this uneasy time with ease and grace, how can we stay healthy, prevent getting sick, and protect our beloved ones.
While you may know me as a specialist on emotional healing and spiritual growth, I am a trained Clinical Aromatherapy Practitioner who also spent four years at Moscow State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology. The past couple of weeks, I rolled up my sleeves and asked myself what do my community, friends, and family need? How can I best put all my scientific knowledge and ingredients to work?
First of all, I put together a Hand Sanitizer that has 65% of 91% ethanol that is effective against the coronavirus and flu. Alcohol is extremely drying to the skin in such a high percentage, so I used the remaining 35% of the volume to add moisturizing and soothing botanical extracts, lavender hydrosol, and a complex of essential oils and Tranquility Flower Essence formula to boost your immunity and vitality.
If you are making your own hand sanitizers, AVOID essential oils that can cause skin irritation and phototoxic reaction, such as Cinnamon Bark and Leaf, Clove, Tarragon, Bergamot, Thyme, Oregano, Lemon, Pine, Coriander, Grapefruit, Black Pepper, Fennel, Ginger.
It is very beneficial to use essential oils like Lemon, Pine, Thyme, Oregano, Sweet Marjoram, Raventsara, Eucalyptus, Sweet Orange, and Bergamot for surface cleaning, especially if you wear rubber gloves. Those aromatic helpers will clean and disinfect the surface and energy in your room. Just remember that essential oils are incredibly concentrated, and a 2% dilution is enough to be effective.
Now let’s talk about your emotional and mental state. Panic, stress, excessive worry, insomnia wears down your body, dulls your reaction, and weakens the immune system. Focus on the present moment, be awake and alert. When you rush or panic, you tend to make mistakes, such as forget to wash or disinfect your hands and surfaces or take your daily immune building supplements.
I put together a formula effective to these times called Tranquility Flower Essence formula. It is a powerful synergy of five flowers (Red Clover, Echinacea, Self-Heal, Scotch Broom, and Yarrow) to bring inner peace, calm the anxiety, stop the panic, and stimulate self-healing potential and physical vitality. The Tranquility Flower Essence formula is also included in my hand sanitizers to boost self-healing potential and calm as you use the product. You can always rely on a well-known Bach’s Rescue Remedy that had been a proven remedy to release tension and bring peace.
Coronavirus is not the first pandemic the humanity faces; neither is an economic challenge – and somehow, we all are going to get through. We always do. Find stability and centeredness in your core, in your soul – so that you can be genuinely present, alert, and aware. Use tools to help you evaluate what you’re feeling “called” to do at this time in your life. Observe and learn what may be keeping you from achieving. Discover tools to help you set and achieve goals and adapt to possible changes.
If you are empathic, and pick up unpleasant emotions, fear, and anxiety from the collective, don’t forget to daily “deep clean” your energy field by smudging with White Sage, Cedar, Palo Santo, or use Energy Clearing Spray for Space and Aura. Grounding yourself and meditating with stones like Tourmaline, Amethyst, Smoky Quartz is highly beneficial as well as with calming stones like Blue Lace Agate, Aquamarine, Celestite, Angelite and Sodalite.
Natural remedies can correct the terrain and increase the body’s resistance to disease by improving its ability to fight the infection. Lavender, Lemon, Bergamot, Thyme ct Linalool, Roman and German Chamomile, Pine, Sandalwood (plantation grown), Myrrh, Vetiver stimulate the production of the white blood cells also called leukocytes. These cells of the immune system that are involved in protecting the body against both infectious disease and foreign invaders.
You can make your own Immune Tonic Blend to use daily as a body oil in the bath, with dry-brushing as part of a health-maintenance routine or to treat acute conditions as cold and flu:
- 3 drops of Lavender essential oil
- 3 drops of Tea Tree essential oil
- 2 drops of Bergamot FCF (a non-phototoxic version furanocoumarin-free/bergapten-free) essential oil
- 2 drops Ravensara essential oil
- 2 drops Eucalyptus (radiata or globulus) essential oil
- 10 drops of Tamanu Oil
- 1 oz/30 ml of calendula infused oil or just jojoba, grapeseed or apricot seed carrier oil
Add essential oils to a 30 ml/1oz of your carrier oil, stir well, and let sit for at least 8 hours to make sure the essential oils distribute evenly and create a unique healing synergy. You can multiply this recipe and make a bigger batch for your family.
Calming and soothing essential oils to reduce stress, fear and anxiety that can be used in the diffuser include Bergamot, Cardamom, Clary Sage, Sweet, and Wild Orange, Palmarosa, Myrtle, Tea Tree, Lavender, Melissa, Ho Wood, Benzoin, Cedar, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Ylang Ylang.
Stay healthy, calm, and grounded! Find people with whom you can be at your most relaxed and authentic—a “family” who can witness you through difficult times. Right now, we’re processing trauma on the individual, inherited, and collective levels.
